Filing Deadline

You must request a fast appeal to the QIO by noon of the day after you receive the NOMNC.

Processing Time

The Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) must decide by the end of the day after it receives your appeal. If the QIO agrees with the termination, you become financially liable the following day.

What Happens Next

The QIO will review your case and contact your provider. If the QIO sides with you, services continue with Medicare coverage. You will not be charged while the appeal is pending.
